    I have a Simplicity 7112 which may be similar to your Allis Chalmers - not sure. On my tractor, there is a small brake pad on one of the levers that stops the pullies when the clutch is pushed in. Replacing this brake pad on mine got rid of the grinding - that and installing the belt guard.

    JD 425 smells like gas

    If the tractor doesn't have a fuel shut-off valve, maybe that would do the trick. When done for the day, shut off the gas, let the engine run for a bit to clear most of the fuel out of the carb, and then shut the tractor down.

    I picked up the fuel lines and was able to replace them without too much trouble. Of course, I had them connected backwards on the first try, but now it's wacking the weeds like before.

    The White GT1855 was built by MTD. If you go to the MTD website, you should be able to download a parts manual using your model number. I have a GT1855 and it"s model number is 145-998-190. You can search the internet once you have the part number that you need.

    Many of the White tractors were built by MTD and the MTD site has parts manuals on line. If your tractor is an MTD and you can find a part number, you can probably order it online.

    white GT1622 50 mower deck belt

    I have a 50 inch deck on my White GT1855. The model number for my deck is 190-993-000 and I know the Owner's Guide for it is on the MTD site. You could take a look at that manual and if you're lucky, it'll be similar enough to your deck to be useful. My deck connects to the PTO with a driveshaft.
