John Deere 855 - Bush Hog Size

Remember, with the hydro you can go as slow as you want and you don't have to take a full width swath. Ability to lift and steer will be more limiting than power. I used 5' bush hog behind my 855 MFWD cutting brush and grass taller than the tractor. Shear bolt in pto will be OK 'cause with only...

    Question about ownership

I believe that while on I-80, just west of Des Moines, at DeSoto, I drove right by All States Ag Parts HQ. Web site shows they have sites at Lk. Mills and Ft. Atkinson, IA too.

    Who reproduced IH part manuals?

15 or 20 years ago I bought a reproduction of an original parts manual for a SC. It left home along with the tractor. It had a red cover and maybe it was in a 3-ring binder when I got to, or maybe I put it in the binder - don't remember. Who published those manuals? Are they still doing it...

    Look what I stumbled across

Nice tractor you have there. Does yours have that same label cast into the manifold heat exchanger? Looks to be labeled HEAT CONTROL FOR MANIFOLD AND SEAB?? ? Wonder what those last two letters are?

    Look what I stumbled across

As I appreciate any old tractor, I really appreciate your full dissertation. Knew it was something special. It would be fun to get her running again, but leaving in work clothes as the tin is so nice. High Wyoming desert is preserving it pretty well.

    Look what I stumbled across

Thought of SN tag too late. It's now nearly 1,000 miles away.

    Look what I stumbled across

Wonder when the Twin Cities name ended and MM began? As there's some of both on this tractor makes it look like it was a phase out/in transition. I thought the UNIVERSAL name applied to the two front drive wheel/rear sulky tractor, but what do I know being more of a green, red, orange guy. Any...

Old Thresher's Reunion, Mount Pleasant, IA

Went to the show yesterday. Great, well run show as always. Really nice weather. Today looks to be wet. Tuns through the 6th, Labor Day. Hundreds of vintage and antique tractors. Lots of steam stuff too. Stationery engines galore. Too much for old feet to see in one day.
