    Ford 5900 seals behind pitman arm are stuck

    I would agree, except a seal should be metal on the outer ring and rubber on the inner ring, unless it's a very thin seal. This appears to be one solid piece of metal, with a slight groove in the center. The screw and slidehammer is my next option, but it cost me 129$ to be wrong.

    Did you use a gasket for the hydraulic lift lid, when you put it back together, or something like permatex gasket maker ? I am in the US and cannot find a gasket in stock for my 62 power major.
