    O/T 08-09 Chevy-Ford Diesel Mileage

    Wish I had my old 85 f250 6.9 with banks turbo. It was auto, ext.cab, 4x4 and I could get 18mpg around home and 14-15 loaded, depending on the load. It had 245000 on it when I sold it and going strong. There's a lot to be said for regular service and preventative maintainence.

    I built a tool to install the wire that works great. I used a coulter from an old plow. I took a plate of steel, cut out the center and attached around coulter so it will always carry the same depth. I also rolled up the front of the plate so it wouldn't dig in.     I HAVE A 20 HP COMPACT, SO I AM PLANNING ON RUNNING @ SPEED. I WAS ALSO PLANNING ON ROLLER CHAIN AND SPROCKETS, NOT DIRECT DRIVE.

    So diameter doesn't mean anything? My shaft sizes are both 1" so I was considering the rpm @ the shaft. I'm not an engineer by any means, i'm trying to use common sence.

    Would like to know if anyone could tell me what sprockets to use to run my generator off my pto. I have a 540 pto and want to run my 10kw gen head with it. the gen needs to run @ 3600rpm. Since 540 goes into 3600 6.66 times, if I use a 2" dia sprocket on gen and a 13 1/2" on shaft it will turn...
