Sorry about the double post. I couldn't remember my password so used as guest then remembered and reposted because I thought the first post didn't appear.

A couple at auction this month...

Why do you say Gleaners don"t road well? my L2 roads just fine. Gleaners of that era were a favorite for custom harvesters and they roaded all the time. Also it"s only the early L that had teething problems. Mostly due to the shaft monitor system sent minute amounts of electricity through...

    Wanting my first combine

Don't mess around, for the money a Good L/L2/M/M2 are easy to find and parts machines are plentiful yet in most areas. That's if you are looking to expand in the near future. Great machines.

F2 and 324 vs the bear

Ditto. I'd just shoot it, throw the dirt back in hole and never tell anyone about it.

    190 xt

I've been using my brother's 1970 190XT Series III for years pulling a chisel plow and as a planting tractor and pulling baler with zero transmission or engine problems other than bacteria in the fuel tank. It needs some brake work right now. Dad has a gasser XT that had a rear axle bearing go...

    Another Hyd. Hose Question

With the low flow high pressure system of the WD it will work just fine.

    Gleaner E

I see you got gas to the engine. For those who might not know those E Gleaners had a primer on the fuel pump. You grab the wire handle under the pump and pull it several times. You can feel it lose stroke as it becomes primed. Works great.

    190 xt trouble

You are probably going to need to rebuild your pump. Around here that would run about $500 at a good injector pump shop. Pull the fitting off the top of your pump to see if there is pieces of the seal ring clogging it up. You can bust the glass ball out to make it run for a while longer but not...

    Combine height?

Any older Gleaner rotary like an N5 or R40/R50. Even N6/7 and R60/70 will fit in an opening that high but your width will be a problem. N5 is about 132" high. An M/M2 would barely make it. Book put M2 at 139" high. These are all with just the factory extensions. An M2 should squeeze into a 15"...

    Allis 7580?

This message is a reply to an archived post by Dave from MN on November 12, 2011 at 17:54:19. The original subject was "Allis 7580?". Did you ever get it? If so retuning the engine RPM down to 2400 does wonders for engine life. If the right shop does it you won't lose any power either. Also for...

    Gleaner P80 Roll Call

That's right, I think I said I would post some pics. I'll try this weekend. It was bought at an auction a mile or 2 Northwest of Wanamingo MN. Not sure if the farmer bought it new or not but my brother also bought the D17 he had and I got his snap coupler 4 row planter. We still have all this...

    Blowing shut right now

Yep over by Rochester we are getting our winters snow allotement all in March. Before March I hadn't needed the snowblower since winter of 2010/2011. This is from early in that winter catching some dirt from the field...............

    Old diesel fuel

Todays diesel is garbage if it has biofuel in it. Cost me a couple rebuilds on combine after sitting one winter both times. If the fuel stinks like crayons or if it's cloudy when in a glass jar then drain it out and hope your pump isn't already seized.
