    Trouble with sleeves

    Have you priced a set of sleeve & pistons for a Super WD9? If you can even find them, there probably pushing $1500.

    You should get the piston out of the sleeve first before pulling the sleeve, then use a sleeve puller. How are you trying to get the sleeve out with the piston in? If you are trying to pound it out from the connecting rod side, you're probably going to mess up the piston, and will be difficult...

    Workbench tops

    I built mine out of 2x10's, added 1/2 playwood on top, then covered the top with .047" thick stainless steel sheet. Drilled holes in the sheet and attached it with sheet rock screws. Very easy to keep clean, and weld spatter doesn't stick.

    It is what it is now, so you have to deal with what you got to work with, at least it's a small field. that's why it was a test field, right? If you mix it with alfalfa the cows should eat some of it, but they will sort out a lot of the straw. I guess if it was me, I'd cut it with the haybine...

    I'd check around at heavy machinery or implement dealers, I'm sure they would have decent stuff there. Do you have a Cator Case IH dealer nearby? I wouldn't trust Chinese steel & forgings. They can make anything you want over there if they have a blueprint, but they don't know or understand...

    I'd cut it with the sickle mower so the swath lays out as wide as possible, to dry better. Cut it high so it stays up on the stubble to get air under it. It's difficult to get oat hay to dry completely, so I'd try to feed it out to the cows as soon as possible. If it's only an acre or less...
