    OT last evenings moon

The pics are great. What kind of camera do you have? Were you using a telescope? I was looking at it that night as well, and your pics show it pretty much as I was seeing it.

    JD LX 176

Anyone know where there may be parts or parts tractors available for these LX models? I fubar'd my hood mounts yesterday, and it's had a piece broken off up by the dash ever since I got it, so I need another hood for it.

    Generic free word processnig program

Dunno if you're going to be using the laptop while online, but if so Google Docs works fairly well for simple word processing, spreadsheets, etc. If you'll need to use it offline, then the others mentioned would be good choices.

    OT Windows 10

For those that have installed 10 or are considering it, you might want to do search on the privacy settings. Everything gets reported back to the mothership under MS 10, and while I know that's not a huge concern for most, some might not like the under the hood snooping that goes on, especially...

    Craftsman Tool Catalog

Doesn't have anything to do with Craftsman or Sears, but I believe Northern Tool still makes a catalog for their tools and equipment. My brother just received a really nice hardbound catalog in the mail the other day from Northern, but I don't know if that's something he had to special order...

    JD 216 saga continues

Great, Thanks! That helps a lot. I was afraid the two pulleys on the bottom were supposed to be parallel to each other. The "T" handle thing is broke, so all that is left is a kind of a misshapen plastic glob mess that looks like somebody has used pliers or a vise grip on, but I did notice...

    JD 216 saga continues

OK, I went to route the mower belt on this afternoon, so I wound up taking the outside pulley off the PTO mechanism, and got the belt routed over the inner pulley, but then I found the two pulleys down below seem to be cocked to one side, with the back one off to the side of the front one. Is...

    What kind of mower???

Don't know how well or if it would work for your situation, but maybe those front mount units types the golf courses use may be an option? Again, just throwing the idea out there, not sure how tall of grass those things can handle, nor do I have any idea of the expense involved.

    216 deck parts

Sorry, it's a John Deere 216 mower. I have another thread about the mower deck but before I could get to the putting the deck on, I had to replace both drive belts and finally got that finished up last night so it at least moves now. Think I still have some adjusting to do, but anyway, the guy I...

    216 deck parts

Ok, So I got the front drive belt on and ordered the rear drive belt and the mower deck belt, but while I'm waiting for those to come in, does anyone have a source on where to obtain used parts for these? I can't post a pic until I get back to where the mower is tonight but it looks like the...

John Deere 216 Mower Deck Install ?

Well, got the new drive belt on today---gawd what a royal pain---- and started tightening up the torsion bar spring. Not sure if the belt is adjusted quite properly yet but I'm waiting on the rear drive belt and the mower deck belt to get here so I'll finish it up when I get the new belts in...

John Deere 216 Mower Deck Install ?

Sorry, hate the way this phone works or mostly doesn't when trying to reply on here. It was supposed to say "loosened", and new mower deck "belt".
