    Mike: I have a 50 A and what you describe is exactly what is in mine.You end up with 4 facings. I understand that when Deere went to 321 cid in the 50 A they needed more clutch facing to do the job.

    Kent peterson obituary .

    I will think of Kent every time I start my John Deere 1950A with the starter I bought from him a few years ago!He was a pleasure to do business with and certainly an asset to American Agriculture and those who work for a living! Rest in Peace, Kent!

    In western MA, like NH, there were a LOT of side hills that needed to be mowed. I did a lot of them with a #5 mower on a 50 B.     Putting Starter into 1950 A

    Do any of you have suggestions on the "easiest" way to put the starter back into a 1950 A (bottom mounted)? As you know, it is heavy and there is not much room to work. I have installed it before but "there must be an easy way"..??? Thanks for any advice!
