    What method do you use to keep from getting paint on tires when painting rims?

    I try not to get much paint on the tires when spraying, then I use lacquer thinner on a rag to clean off the enamel over spray. It works good and shines the tires

    MF 2805

    We're the bolts kept tight on the drop box? My 2805 with the Elwood fwd had over 2000 hrs on with no problems. Elwood made fwd axles for IH , MM, and others. Parts are still available for them , from a place in Illinois.

    MF 2805

    I have owned 3 Massey Ferguson 2805 tractors over the years, one with the Elwood FWD. I like those tractors and had good luck with them. When the green tractors break down and they do, it's acceptable and kept quiet, not the same story if it's a Massey.

    MF 1085 hydraulic filter housing

    I would Not replace the original set up. That filter housing will unscrew easily if taping lightly with a hammer in the threaded area while trying to spin it off.

    Cold starting MF 860 then no move

    I had it happen to a 760, same hydo as 860. There are 2 valves that go into opposing sides of the pump and they stuck. This will cause no movement. One valve for forward, and one for reverse.     Neighbor has a 850 with no clutch freeplay, and will slip under a heavy load. I thought this is not right. Clutch seems to have 2 stages, is that correct?

    Hydraulic fluid?

    The fluids of yesterday are replaced by fluids that meet the specs of yesterday. Universal hy- Tran usually meets those specs.
