Remove build-up in thermo-siphon engine cooling loop?

I think I've only seen the needle budge once, and that was after a long time at fast idle. The manual says to operate the engine at 180-190 Fahrenheit, but if it's not supposed to get that hot on light duty I'll leave well enough alone since I'm not planning to run it on kerosene.

Model H spark plug cover question

Thanks, I'll need to get some new bolts to attach the covers, what length will work best? (Sorry for the late reply)

Remove build-up in thermo-siphon engine cooling loop?

Perhaps I misunderstood, but would that not only service the radiator since gravity would pull the water through the plug hole beneath it?

Remove build-up in thermo-siphon engine cooling loop?

I suspect that my 1940 John Deere model H has some build-up in the coolant system because the temperature gauge needle barely moves while running, even when I max out the engine speed. I don't have the proper tools nor a safe place to disassemble the machine, so I'm hoping there's a way to...

1940 John Deere H doesn't run for long.

I put fresh non-ethanol fuel mixed rich with Seafoam in the tank, and I replaced the spark plugs with non-resistor models. The old girl is running so much better now, but I assume the light-grey smoke is from the Seafom?

Do these antiques run better on premium, or is regular grade just as good?

1940 John Deere H doesn't run for long.

Hello all, I'm looking for advice to make my 1940 H run better. The engine will start and run, but it always sputters and dies while the wheels are moving. My first thought was to replace the old gas with fresh stuff. I was using non-ethanol premium and drained it from the tank and...

Remove Rust-oleum Farm & Implement paint?

Thankfully the lettering is raised and the SN is stamped. I got the paint off and the plate is still legible.

Remove Rust-oleum Farm & Implement paint?

I forgot to mask off the builder's plate on my tractor before repainting it. The can says to use xylol or mineral spirits for clean-up, will one of them also act as a remover now that the paint is dry? Which of the two will work better?

Deere H oil filter gasket position?

Do I need to stretch the new gasket for it to fit? I'm using a WIX 51148 filter. Edit: Nevermind, I got the old one out and it's larger than the new one. I flipped the old one around for now and won't use these WIX filters next time. This post was edited by Lylat1an on 08/14/2021 at...

    1940 H radiator fan color?

    Thank you.

    1940 H radiator fan color?

I've seen some vintage John Deere fans that were yellow, the fan on my 1940 H is green. Should that be changed when I repaint it?

Deere H oil filter gasket position?

Is the gasket supposed to be on the cap side of the filter, or the other side?
