Model B Engine Questions
Mnethercutt We have a crankshaft out of the late B. Found a tractor and bought it and was going to use it in and earlier B. Won't work. Never checked it to see how much it was worn. Massey Harris 44 brakes
Got the Massey 44 home. rustred we had the one that didn't leak gear oil. Removed plug on the adjuster and it was froze up. The arm one the brake cross shaft came off pretty easy. Electronic ignition
RickyL Pertronix makes 2 ignitons for the Farmall. 1442 and 91442. 1442 takes 3.0 to 4.5 ohm coil. 91442 takes 0.6 to 3.5 ohm coil. You could also use MSD Ignition box. oil filter for unstyled A
jdbdave Here is the parts diagram for the unstyled A. The stud I referred to is #6. Changeover is 1 1/8 inches shorter. Bottom cover looks to be the same #18. The nut 19A needs to be changed to 19B. You also need oil filter outlet #22. The old brass plugged into the oil filter head #4C. Also...- Lynerd

jdbdave Been almost 30 years since I changed my 36 A over to later filter. Best I remember the cover is different and stud it goes on is longer. I cut off stud and put threads on it while it was on tractor and got a different cover. I will look on my other computer later as I have the parts...- Lynerd
