Thank you for that... I know just enough about electricity to be dangerous (to myself!). I had no idea. So am I correct that I don't need the ceramic resistor? If not, do I bypass wiring from the resistor and go direct to the coil?- mac15b

So I just got an alternator kit for our 52 8N. Now we are in need of some guidance on wiring this thing up. Harbor Freight Sand Blaster
I know, Harbor Freight tools can be a 50/50 sometimes, but it's what I have!! I have the HF sand blast tank, (red, upright, on two wheels, looks like a compressor) but can't get it to pull media through the hose. Air comes out, nothing is clogged. I had been using glass beads... is that too fine... -

Front Transmission Seal
Kind of what I'm thinking. I'm going to pay attention to my drip puddle and see how bad the rear main leak is... I think most of it is hydraulic. If that's the case, I can deal with a drip every so often!- mac15b

Front Transmission Seal
Can anyone point me to a part number for the front transmission seal? I've determined the oil leak coming out of the weep hole may well be hydraulic fluid. I'm probably going to replace that and the rear main seal to be safe. I've been looking at several parts diagrams, but not sure what part...- mac15b

Oil Leak Question
Sorry I've not checked back in here for a while, we were on Spring Break and I've been nursing an injury. Anyway, the oil dripping out of the weep hole has a yellowish tinge to it with a trace of darker oil. I'm assuming the dark is engine oil and the yellow is hydraulic... correct? So if this...- mac15b

Thanks for all the input guys, I really appreciate it! I will check the oil that is dripping out and see what our issue may be. When I say "restore", it's more of "restoration light"... being a school program, we obviously don't have a ton of cash to throw into a full-on restoration. We're...- mac15b

Ok, so first off, I am a high school ag teacher, teaching mostly shop classes. We have a 1952 8N in the shop that my classes are going to restore.
