    i guess it's possible. i haven't been into it and i bought it used with low transmission oil pressure and found the screen stopped up when i changed the oil. the second time i cleaned the screen and replaced the filter, i noticed the old filter wasn't covered with the fibers like the screen...

    it's an old 1976 model with 8700 hours. the clutches still pull good but the brakes have to be pulled hard to turn.

    my suction screen keeps getting stopped up. its clogged up with stringy fibers about 1/4" long. i've changed the oil and install a new filter when i clean the screen. it's like they're coming from something internal. i can tell when it's clogged up by my transmission oil pressure gauge. any ideas?

    thanks Jim, i think you're right, the decal says 550 but the serial # tag says 550-C and it is a 6-way dozer blade. the serial # is 252281T. i've got the 700+ page shop manual and it shows a plug where you said. it doesn't show a plug in the center bottom of the housing but i can't figure...

    i'm having trouble posting a pic. what i think is the plug has a 1 1/4" round head with no shoulders or recess for a allen wrench. if it is the plug, how do i get it out?
