    I am trying to get about 2 or 3 more mph on my JD 50. I was told bigger tires would speed up the tractor. Is this true if so how big do you go? Right now I have 11.2 x 38. Thanks, Mandy

    No it like it goes into neutral. The shifter never moves.

    I went on a tractor ride yesterday. Great time but some issues with the 1953 JD 50. I was running in 6 th gear wide open coming down hills it would get to the bottom and just stopped. Tried putting it in 5th gear won"t move but it in 3rd gear would not move. Put it in 4th and then finally...

    No last year I cleaned the air filter with mineral spirits and rinsed it off real good hasn't been wet since then.

    Not sure my temp gauge works just saying that is what the temp gauge reads. I let it run for about 30 minutes. I would think it is warm by then!

    The idle screws are set to 1/2 turn out. Where the Poppin John told me to set it. The hottest it gets is 140F.

    It takes it a good long time to warm up where it isn't smoking but every time I throttle up I get a big puff of white smoke.
