    I think going to a rotor would be a good thing. The only problem is that a 1420 is kind of an orphan; it shares no parts with any other machine, except a 1620, which is also a pretty rare machine. It wouldn't cost much to move up to a 1440 or 1460, and you would have a lot more parts to choose...

    I don't know if this applies or not, but I've found I have much better luck trying to "surprise" a bolt & nut with an air impact than a battery-powered one. Just a thought.

    I have had luck with an Impact wrench. It seems that sometimes hitting it really fast will zip it off before the bolt wakes up (-: If that doesn't work, pulling the sieve isn't that bad a job.

    It's hard to assess a value without seeing the machine. That said, with the loader, if it runs well, the TA works, the hydraulics function as they should, and it has decent paint, it should be in the $ 2,500- $ 3,500 range.

    An easy way to check both that and the intake gasket is to have the tractor running at a fast idle, spray some starting fluid (either) around where the gaskets are, and if the tractor engine surges, you have a leak

    An M2 is a good combine. That said, all machines break down and require high-dollar maintenance. If there was anyone in your area who does timely custom harvesting, I'd look into going that route for 30 acres.

    IH 706 Converting 2 pt fast to 3 pt. Is it worth the cost and work?

    I've used this setup for years. If you want to use it on a bush hog or cultivator, it works fine; if you want to moldboard plow, it might not be heavy enough.

    You have a bad connection at the battery. Clean the posts and the cables, then give it another try If that doesn't work, try jumper cables. Still no go? You could have a shorted battery. Take a battery out of something else and give it a try.

    I agree, you can overload the sieves and throw corn out, but it takes damaged corn to blow it out with too high a fan speed.

    If the day comes when you move some dirt, make sure to start a new thread so it catches our attention. Just my opinion, but I can see a thread like this one going on for months, and some might not follow along. Starting a new thread would get us back on track.
