    Are non stock tractors harder to sell?

    If I was going to use it, I would much rather have your 'extra' features. I also think, 'everyone else has a narrow front, I want to be different'. Mark.

    Re-thinking about this, the 300 has a push style throw out bearing, and I was (for some dumb reason) thinking of a pull type throw put bearing, like large trucks have, which are what I have worked on the most. But you are correct, if the bearing is back against the rear housing, it can't return...

    Tough weed

    I have been using Round up, or the generic equivalent, 41%, and always mix close to 6oz per gallon. I remember reading that rate / mix a long time ago, and continue to use it at that rate. But for tough weed control I prefer Crossbow, and again on that plant, a surfactant. Mark.

    IH 300 UTILITY TA clutch to main clutch adjustment.

    I noticed in your 4th pic, the pedal is not completely returned to its full height-the pedal spring may not be pulling it up completely. This would allow the throw out bearing to set up against the pressure plate fingers. Mark.

    Tough weed

    Just off the top of my head, your mix is too weak. I think it should be 4-6 oz to the gallon for handheld sprayer. Read your label. You also may want try Crossbow, it is for woody species and works on tough weeds, too. I agree with the waxy leaves needing a surfactant to prevent spray run off. Mark.

    Update to "Guess what I was trying to do "..........Fire

    My neighbor called me one evening recently, and, asked if I could finish rolling his hay. His baler caught fire-a main drive bearing went out- and luckily, he got the fire out. And also luckily, got the parts in a day after they told him, it was hard to find part. Mark.

    New 684 tach runs at half speed

    The reason the electric hour meter makes 'more hours', is they are actual hours, not hours based on engine revolutions on the tachometer. Most tachometers actually say hours at xxxx RPM, so the more RPM the engine turns, the quicker it 'makes an hour', whereas the electric hour meter doesn't...

    New 684 tach runs at half speed

    About 30yrs ago, I took a tach head from a Ford 2000 to a speedometer shop to have it repaired. We got it back, put it in, and it ran half speed. (I have forgotten the original problem). Anyway, I took it back to the speedometer shop, and he 'flashed' it with a magnet., and then it worked ok. Mark.

    New 684 tach runs at half speed

    I had to do that on my CIH485. No one could repair the tach (the hour meter had quit), but the rpm was fine. No replacement was available-there is something special/different about the face, I think. Except for cutting a hole in the dash, it was easy-peasy. But - guess what? electric hourmeters...

    Can the wires be in the right sequence, but installed opposite of firing rotation? Mark.

    Frontier hay tedder tilt cylinder

    I bought an older 4 basket Frontier model 1316 tedder, hydraulic fold and tilt, using one hydraulic line; fixed it up a little (new hoses, teeth...) and used it on my first cutting. It worked fine. Used it on my second cutting, it worked fine on 1/2 of it, then the tilt cylinder would not work...

    Quick question...

    Something that I have done in the past is pull the cap off, take the coil wire out of the cap and hold it near the block, make sure the points are closed, turn on the key, and open and close the points with a screwdriver. If the coil wire sparks, you have a problem with the cap or rotor button...

    Looking at buying a New Holland TL100A advice needed

    I am unfamiliar with that model. I usually check various sites for prices before ever considering any major purchase. But, we had a local Ford/New Holland dealer who gave up on them, because of the warranty issues, and became a Kubota dealer. Mark.
