8n will not start, tried everything I could think of...
I finally got her running. Even though the points were clean and square I replaced them anyway (they were 6 years old). The main thing that I did differently was pulling the base spring out of the distributor and pulled out the base plate. Sure makes it easier to replace the points...- Mark8NinNS

Hello Murray, I am in Pictou County. Warm today 29C. I am not electrically gifted but I understand that converting a Chev alternator to 6v is not a big deal. I believe Vince MacDonald Automotive in Stellarton will make the conversion. Mark- Mark8NinNS

Thanks Bruce. I have gas running freely to/through the bowl. I seem to have a weak and intermittent blue spark. I don't have an ammeter but I will get one when the stores open. Last night I put a new rotor button and a newer distributor cap on. I double checked the timing and the points...- Mark8NinNS
