    Super M value

Posted a couple times but got no response. Maybe my posts are not making it to the forum. I am moving to town and need to sell my Super M. Wondering what a ball park value is. It's a '53 L 508655 J Charlynn power steering, clean installation, after market 3 point, Scwartz wide front end. Tires...

    Super M value

Wondering what my 1953 Super M might be worth. Runs great, has Swartz wide front end, tires are decent. Original condition, not restored. Converted to 12 volt. Charlynn power steering, works well. Any ballpark figures?

    Where are my keys?

I find losing your keys is like a lot of other things. I drive in big city traffic everyday. If you get in a hurry you get in trouble. Same thing with losing stuff. Take the time to put it away. Had a boss once that had signs everywhere, but one said There is a place for everything and...

    super m water pump/camshaft gear

After reading the archives this morning I got the spacers and large nut off and figured out my packing nut issue. I now can see that hopefully I have the proper packing.I am still afraid the driver is going to rub against the packing nut. There is a little play in and out on the shaft.

    super m water pump/camshaft gear

Yee haw With all the great advice you "ole hands" provided I got my super M camshaft gear replaced, put partially back together enough to start it. It started, although the bent wire connector from the coil grounding out on the distributor body gave me some grief. Thank you all!!! Annother...

    Camshaft gear fell off.

Not a dumb question IHFan but very observant and helpful. The picture I took is of the side that goes toward the tractor. I thought just the opposite. Bob's appears to be the front of the gear, the longer "flange" to set the gear farther out from the camshaft. I just looked at my old gear and...

    Camshaft gear fell off.

There isn't a punch mark on my gear, just the raised circle with the small slot. I have a punch mark on the crankshaft gear and it is pointing towards the camshaft with No 1 cylinder at TDC. My manual shows the keyway at about 7:30 when the gears are lined up.

    Camshaft gear fell off.

Hey Bob, I guess my gear is different than others. My crankshaft gear (see pic) has no timing marks. I have a picture in my manual so will have to go by that. Only thing I can figure out to get the timing right is get TDC on No 1, put the camshaft gear on and check to see if I have compression...

    Camshaft gear fell off.

I was hoping it was that simple. I appreciate your advice. I hope she fires up. That would be real nice. My snow shovel and I are ready for some time apart. Talk around here in NE Kansas is more heavy snowfall this year. Thanks Bob

    Camshaft gear fell off.

I am finally getting back to repairing my SM since my camshaft nut fell off. Have a new gear, nut and keeper. I need to find the archives so I can time the camshaft gear to the crankshaft gear. Do you just line up the dots? I figure the answer is in the archives but can't seem to find them...

    Flinger

I need a flinger for my Super M. Where can I find one?

    Super M camshaft

Thanks to both of you for the input. Bob, I stole your idea from the archives. Does the keeper go in between the nut and the gear like a lock washer? And can I buy one when I buy the gear? Jim,I don't think I have the expertise to make my own key, but what a great idea. Thanks again.
