Preferred Choice to Replenish Liquid Level in a FLA battery

You got it backwards - you want to slowly add the acid to the water. If you add water to a strong acid like sulfuric acid the exothermic reaction will cause the water to boil and splatter which will also splatter acid.

    Woke up to no water

That definitely sounds like a blown starter capacitor. You should be able to buy a replacement for around $10-15.

    Short wires in junction box

If you add on pigtails to those two wires I'm guessing you are going to have overfilled the box according to code (if it isn't already overfilled). You will probably need to swap in a larger box in order to accommodate everything and meet code.

    Electrical question

old, that's a rounding error. Nothing more.

    Electrical question

sorry Old but you are wrong. If you want more information about it go here: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/textbook/alternating-current/chpt-11/true-reactive-and-apparent-power/

    Electrical question

not true in this case old. A baseboard heater is a pure resistive load so the power factor issues that you are referring to don't apply. Old would be correct if this were a motor.

Rusty barrel on my Winchester tool...maybe OT

I know all this talk about refinishing wood stocks is off topic, but for those of you interested sailboat people use bronze wool during wood refinishing for the rusting steel wool bits reason. You can buy it at West Marine and also on the web at various sites.

    Series Parallel Cells Update

Owen is correct - you don't have cells 3 and 4 in parallel - you just have cell #4 hooked up backwards, so iif it was of similar charge condition as cell #3 it would just be removing the voltage effect of that cell #3. You have cells #1 and #2 in series and then a mess hooked up to it in series

    Used galvanized roofing ?????

old, that makes sense. However, in my case I have old roofing that I pulled off a building and wasn't able to reuse the screw holes. Anybody have any experience with one of the thicker products ? My goal is to seal up the rusted areas and help hold the caulk in the holes.

    Used galvanized roofing ?????

old, what roof coating product have you had good experiences with? I have a bunch of run-in sheds for horses that could use a coating, but I never figured out what product was worth the cost

    trapping moles -update

So, a while ago someone on this forum posted about a mole trap they were going to try made by trapline products. I've tried numerous methods to kill moles including those Giant Destroyers and even a Rodex 5000 with very little tangible success, so I figured I would give these traps a try. I've...

    Dead blow hammers

Not correct. a rebounding hammer transfer more kinetic energy to the object being hit. The rebound is in the opposite direction from the initial swing. That kinetic energy in the rebound is generated by an equal transfer of energy to the struck object. So, the struck object receives the...

    Mole Traps

Has anybody tried on of those PERC (pressurized exhaust rodent control) systems against moles?

    Mole Traps

Yes, I have a Rodex 4000 if I remember correctly (got it wrong in my other post). Have had it for about 6-7 years and use it occasionally, but I've never felt that it was all that effective against moles. Perhaps against things like prairie dogs it would work well. The machine is...
