    1066 Transmission fluid filter

Message: Sorry to bug you again but....I was just curious where you buy your parts for these older IH tractors. I did the filter change on this thing but did not change the gasket and now I have an annoying leak around the filter cap. By the way, the filter did take care of the not moving...

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

The fluid that came out when I took the old filter out was very clear, looked new. I have had several leaks, now fixed, in the past year, so the fluid is basically new. The filter did seem to be plugged up pretty bad and soppy so maybe the new one will do the trick. I did see some drops of what...

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

Right the tractor will not move when it is low on fluid and/or it is frozen, ie below 32 degrees. I assume the frozen part is condensed water in the fluid and filter. A couple of times it has run low on fluid and the same thing, will not move, but....bucket will lift and tilt, three point will...

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

The tractor seems to run good when it is above freezing or colder weather and like I said the shift on the left (TA) seems to be stuck in one position and has been ever since I have owned the tractor (five years)and the guy I bought it from didn't know what the right shift lever was either, lol...

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

Is there some sort of additive that could be used to dissipate the water that collects? It gets below freezing quite often and this year it has started the not moving and no steering, but this is the first year it has done it. To drain the fluid do I take the plugs out of the rear end, there...

    1066 Hydro Fluid Filter Change

Jim, I am now told it is not a Hydro but a regular gear drive. It has two shift handles on the right side as you sit in the seat. Sorry for the confusion, maybe that is the reason there is only one filter, the one on the right side.

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

So, if it has the two handles on the right side it is a regular gear drive right? That would clarify why there is only one filter, the one on the right side. Sorry guys for the confusion but everyone around here locally is telling me that it is a HYDRO. Does the clutch work off the hydraulic...

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

OK, I am relatively sure it is a hydro tranny, it will not move (clutch will not work) and I have no power steering when it is low on fluid or gummed up with ice crystals. I am trying to remedy the ice thing now. Yes DeltaRed, it does have a cab but I still can't find the filter you are...

    1066 Transmission fluid filter

Is it possible that some models of the 1066 does not have a transmission fluid filter?? Because on mine higher up and further forward in front of the brake pedals sits my battery. I have searched all over the right side for any canister type housing and only find the flat plate with two wing...

    1066 Hydro Fluid Filter Change

Ooops, now I am confused. The Hydro filter is on the right side of her belly under the round plate, right? Now where is the Tranny filter?

    1066 Hydro Fluid Filter Change

Do I have to drain the hydro fluid before changing the filter? I have had the problem of air in the lines so I overfilled the fluid level by about five gallons. Will this cause it to loose more fluid when I change the filter. I would think not, maybe loose a little fluid due to pressure and just...

    International 1066

Ok now this question, do I have to drain the fluid before changing the filter? I would think now, maybe loose a little fluid due to pressure and just the setting of the filter. Now, is it a special filter, or are they carried by parts houses??
