    Looks like you are making good progress. You are on the right track. Just wondering, is the clutch stuck too. Can you roll the pulley with it out of gear? This was my 28 D its got so much compression now I can barely turn over.

    I believe there is suppose to be a resistor on that wire that drops the voltage on those coils because they are very easy to burn up if there is too much voltage. 6 volts from the battery is too much. You can probably guess how come I know that.

    Dont do this something is going to break. There are all degrees of stuck. Start by removing the valve cover and work your way deeper and deeper. Remember these old girls may need a little extra foreplay just like the old lady to get things going.

    John Deere 58’ 720 Diesel,engine oil in trans

    I have had two of my tractors doing this. The problem on both was a 25 cent O ring. There is a small o ring between the main bearing casting and the main case where a oil line goes to the oil pressure adjustment. That is the way I remember it.

    730 john deere help

    I had same problem, it was a o ring seal small about the size of a dime. between the main bering housing and the main case where a oil line comes to the main bearing clutch side. Bunch of work for a .10 cent o ring.

    6420 electrical Question

    I know this a antique tractor forum but I know a lot of you know the modern stuff to. My 6420 Is going crazy. The fourway flasher is coming on all by itself with the switch off then goes off then back on. also the tail lights do the same thing but not as often, also all the work lights did...
