    The bottom ones are for a cub. The A, B, BN ones had notches in them.

    The "adapter plate" was standard equipment and depended on your needs. Some wanted the shorter wheelbase for shorter turning radius, while others needed the longer wheelbase for belly mounted equipment such as a sugar beet lifter.

    I have used several that did not have the bracing and never had a problem with them, but I suppose it depends on how they are going to be used. If you have a loader on it and are plowing into a muddy lot, then you better have the braces.

    That is what is referred to as the old style IH wide front around here anyway. Yes, it would be correct for a '49. The flatter style wheel would be correct for a '49. The part you have should fit either tractor. The part that is different is the steering arm that attaches where your NF pedestal...

    Around here, yes they own the ditch but as the adjacent property owner we are required to mow along the road twice a year and control trees and noxious weeds in the ditches.

    I would love to have that problem! Around here if we get .30" of rain or more you about need four wheel drive to get anywhere. Our county is too tight to put out rock, they spend all that money elsewhere.

    Head gaskets.. which one is better?

    The size of the holes matters because that is how they help to even out the flow from front to back in the engine. Otherwise the water /antifreeze just takes the path of least resistance and you could get hot spots at the rear of the engine where you would not get as much flow.
