4020 Won't go into park
Thank you for your reply. I contacted John Deere and they told me that I need to order R49207. I'm glad I talked with them because I definitely would have ordered the wrong part. I hope this can help somebody else. I am ordering the part tonight.- McKraut

I got a chance to look at the tractor and I can see that the gear shifter shaft arm is gone. I tried to find the missing piece where I was working, but I couldn't find it. I will have to order a new one. I am not sure which part number I need to order. It looks like there are two gear shifter...- McKraut

4020 Won't go into park
I ran into an issue today with my 4020 (SN:215000). When I went to put it in park, there was no resistance on the gear shifter and I could move the shifter to "Park", but the tractor was not in park and started to drift. I can still drive the tractor and it will go into 1st, 3rd, and reverse...- McKraut

4020 Running rough
Sorry, yes it is a diesel. I am working on some urgent problems in the house so I may not be responding right away to any questions. I have a JD4020 that has been running rough. I was carrying loads of firewood at around 1800RPM and after an hour without any problems, it started running rough and it was losing power. After a minute or two, it came back up to power but I dropped the load I was carrying and got it back to...- McKraut
