    paint colours placement

I painted an old Woods rotary cutter with Valspar tractor and implement paint. I found the original paint spendy, hard to work with and didn't like breathing xylene. I read a great suggestion on another forum: If you paint the whole thing you'll match no matter what color you choose. So, if...

HD8 Post Driver Front Mount on 460 Wide Front

I bought a used Shaver HD8 Post Driver that came with a bracket that bolts into the four holes on the front bolster below the radiator. I got no information about how it worked for the previous owner but have seen others mounted it by bolting into the two side rails and not the bolster...

    Big Mo 500 Rear Hub

I am near Baltimore Maryland. See my classified. Had hub clamp welded but it didn't hold. If correct hub isn't available would be willing to get a replacement for the cracked one.

    Big Mo 500 Rear Hub

Thanks...great info. I would prefer to lose the shim if possible, but nice to know I have some options. The Jetstar 3 Industrial Hub looks very similar. Both appear to be 8 bolt. Just need to know if the axle and rim size work. The tires are 16.9x24 like you said. Let me know if I am missing...

    Big Mo 500 Rear Hub

Thanks for all the good info. The broken hub on the right side has casting number 10A1761. It is the one that was shimmed. The left side casting number is 10A10326. Both axles measure 2.5 inches, so I am guessing the correct part number is the left side one. I'm attaching a picture of that...

    Big Mo 500 Rear Hub

I inherited it and have no history on it, so you may be right. The right side appears to have had a shim installed around the axle. I think the other side has the same hub but no shim. Not sure why. I will double check both sides casting/parts numbers and post back.

    Big Mo 500 Rear Hub

I am close to Baltimore MD. Since this may not be the original hub, I'll see if I can find the casting/parts number and let all know.

I posted a classified ad for this but was wondering if the same part is used on some other models.

    Furnace repair

I do most of my own maintenance, but when I can't or don't want to, the folks I use here in central Maryland charge $65/Hr plus any parts. The clock starts when the leave their shop (not far away) and ends when they leave the job site. They do good work, don't quibble over return calls, and...

How to check L500 loader reservoir level

Thanks to all for the good info. My loader doesn't have a dipstick attached to the fill cap. It looks like the original owner extended the fill port with galvanized pipe and just put a regular cap on it. I think I know enough now to fabricate a replacement.

How to check L500 loader reservoir level

The manual says there should be a dip stick for the loader reservoir, but I'm not finding it. All I see is a pipe cap for the fill tube and the breather cap, which appears to be fixed. Am I missing something?

Big Mo 500 Loader Backhoe Clutch Problem

Success! I rebuilt the carb yesterday and got it to run. I raised the bucket, backhoe and outriggers and called it a day. Today I pulled it into the field where I could make a straight run towards the driveway. The clutch thunked but it went into gear. It needs some TLC, but I think I'll have...

Big Mo 500 Loader Backhoe Clutch Problem

I wasn't able to get it started yet, but did get it to lurch when I bumped the starter. Now have spark but won't even bark with starting fluid. There is a heavy old gas smell from the carb, so know the next steps. Thanks for the help so far....I'll let you know how it goes.
