    U302 Shifting

Some guys have said shift to low to shift gears easier. Can you do any damage to the ampli-torc by leaving it in low after it has warmed up?

    U302 Shifting

I've started doing the same thing - Pulling out of gear right before stopping. Just wasn't sure if this was normal or not, I've only had this tractor since May, and it spent most of the summer torn apart to overhaul the engine. Thanks!

    U302 Shifting

Just curious why it seems to be easier to shift gears in low than high on my U302? I have a tough time getting it out of gear if it comes to a complete stop. Put it in low, and no problems.

I know there is a wealth of knowledge and experience in these forums, no one has any comments on any of these topics at all?

    U302

Have a new to me U302 and am in the process of going through everything on it. I have a few questions I'd like some advice on, feel free to comment on anything, I appreciate it! 1. Best way to clean up some sludge in the engine - Diesel or kerosene and drain oil? 2. Clutch adjustment -...

    John Deere B Compression question

Could you elaborate on that more? I've read a bit about different pistons, but could you give more details into the valves and cam work? Thanks

    John Deere B Compression question

thanks for the explanation of the difference between the cylinders - make sense! And I'm glad that what I found is normal. This past summer I put it to some pretty hard work mowing and dragging a spring tooth around our place to replant grass on a few acres. Prior to that is has been sitting a...

    John Deere B Compression question

Thanks - that makes me feel better about the readings I got! The I&T Manual wasn't clear on that. Do you feel a difference of 5 psi is tolerable?

    John Deere B Compression question

It is not an all fuel - its gasoline and yes according the manual the compression specs are different between gasoline and all fuel. I think gasoline is around 100 psi? Why i was curious about when an overhaul is needed. I meant as far as gasoline and additives - sorry I should have been more...

    John Deere B Compression question

Thanks for the replies everyone. It doesn't run bad so I'd prefer not to do anything to it just curious what's normal on these old things. Very interesting, the weaker cylinder is on the clutch side. I had never heard that before. I'm still curious about the clutch side cylinder that is...

    John Deere B Compression question

Hello everyone I'm sure the question has been asked before but looking for opinions with my specific issues.. 1947 B has compression readings of 60 and 65psi. The cylinder with better compression the plug is usually cleaner and with a light you can see the combustion chamber is dry. On the...

    farmall 460/560 serial question

Everyone, I've read in an article that 460/560's that had updates for rear end issues were marked with and "X" on the serial tag. Is this true at all? I'm looking for a 560, just wondering if there is a way to know Thanks all!

    Farmall 460 vs 560

Thanks for everyone's input and experiences. Appears I came up with quite the topic! I'm still a bit uncertain still if a 460 would be too small or not.. I think it'd be a close call. I thin I'll plan to look for decent 560 or 656. Thanks again everyone, i appreciate your input!

    Farmall 460 vs 560

I've heard the diesels are hard to start, especially in the winter? so I think gas would be best for me. Glad to know the 460 can hold its own, I've heard some people really trash talk them. I've never done it, but how hard is it to put a wide front on one? Will a wide front off any other...
