    Ruh-roh, that ain't good

I forgot they like to leak around the shifter. When my seal went bad I only noticed the oil on the tire after running down the road in 6th gear. All the bouncing kicked the oil up.

How do you over fill a rear end on a two cylinder John Deere? Your supposed to fill the transmission up to the threads in the fill hole. Kind of hard to get more fluid in than needed unless you have the tractor jacked up so the fill hole is higher up and the tractor is no longer level.

    Ruh-roh, that ain't good

Did that on an A years ago. Bearing was located in the rear end housing. Had to remove the rear transmission cover and the bull gear to get the axle out to replace it.

    1950 Farmall M Clutch

Took the Farmall out for a quick drive on Saturday and when I went to park it in the shed at the end of my ride, I pushed in the clutch pedal, it felt soft, and the clutch wouldn't fully disengage. It was acting like it was still trying to grab and I had the tractor in 1st gear. Was able to...

    Passed again

Never knew Dodge made a V10. I've had two of the Ford F250 V10s and liked both of them. Still own #2 and unfortunately they are gas guzzlers. Mine sits in the shed most of the time as I only use it for pulling tractors to shows and rides. :p

    More on Tractor Rides.

There's one ride I go on where they have 3 different speed classes with slowest in the rear. Seems to work okay, but the fastest group is the biggest group of complainers. Mostly the green and red guys unhappy with the speed and each other. I have a Farmall M I use and ran with the fastest...

In praise of LED lighting for older tractors!

I believe Steiner has LEDs for 6V systems. I've converted both of my tractors (12V systems)
