    Item 14 cracked from one detent hole to the snap ring groove releasing the assembly.. Really thin wall makes weak area of part (that lasted 50 years)

    So I found the kick out piston, 2 balls (how many are there?) and that hollow "pin". I assume everything else outside of it is gone. Can I buy replacement parts to get going again? Or just cap off the end to stop the leaking and keep going?

    The timing cover is light enough to be held up by the seal lip and mostly centers when you push in the pulley. I put a bit of upward pressure on the cover and tightened the top center bolt. Thanks for the reassurance. Most likely my leaks were from my UTV gasket maker not sealing at the bottom...

    What is your preferred way to align the timing cover and/or new crankshaft seal with the pulley? Assuming you don't have the special tool.

    Frozen Hydraulics DB 990

    Well, made it through winter. There was enough oil available on the pump side of the filter to lift and lower 3 or 4 bales every weekend before it ran out of available oil. If I had to use the snowblower, it helped get it warmer sooner when I needed to use the hydraulics more than that.

    What do I check on that right rear remote valve? Finally got cold enough to test my oil and filter change. Same problem, but didn't run it more than half an hour. When I replaced oil and filter, I drained case and diff. Also extended cylinders before change and then retracted/drained them fully...

    Going to replace the hydraulic oil in by David Brown 990 Selectamatic. Service manual says to clean parts with "paraffin". Any alternatives? Will Varsol or just plain Kerosene work? I'm also accepting any advice on how to fully drain the system.
