Which antifreeze tester do I believe?

Winter. If it's -25 F and not frozen then I know the antifreeze works. :)

What does nnalert's shutdown mean for our local ag offices and any handouts, I mean crop payments, headed our way?

California Farm Bureau sides with John Deere

I would agree. Midwest FB is lockstep with anything put forth by GOP, whether it helps farmers or not. Case in point is the trade war we are "winning".

    JD 800 Windrower Question

I have a follow-up question specifically about the JD 800 (or 830) windrower. As these are chain drive machines, what is the braking mechanism? I looked at the OM online and see that there is a park brake, but the OM made no mention of how you stop the machine while operating it. Do you reverse...

    Windrower/Swather Options

Some of the older, smaller windrowers are tricycle-type. How stable are these if working on contour strips?

    Windrower/Swather Options

Thanks. Yes, have a smaller combine that I don't want to choke with too large of a windrow. Also, if I could find one with a crimper I could improve production over the 7 foot mower conditioner that I currently use. But there again, I have a good JD 24T that can't take in too much hay at one...

    Windrower/Swather Options

Thanks for the replies. I'm in Wisconsin so probably not the best area to look for a windrower. But, may be what is out there would be on the smaller side. I've seen some tricycle-type windrowers. How stable are these on a contour?

    Windrower/Swather Options

What would be out there in the way of a 10 foot swather/windrower, self propelled or pull-type? Looking for make and model options. I don"t mean a mower/conditioner, but a windrower for cutting small grain before combining. Thanks for the help.

Same comment as the others. We had land line without long distance calling, but could still receive any call coming in. Renter is ignoring you.

Vertical Hay Elevators - Auger Type

Anyone have any first-hand experience using the auger-type of vertical hay elevator? I"m speaking of the type that mounts on the side of a barn with twin augers that move small bales up into the hay mow, usually to transfer them to an overhead conveyor. Owatonna (OMC) made a model 305. We...

    24T Tucker Fingers Question

Thanks guys for the info. I"ve requested a catalog from Finger Lakes to see about the tucker finger update kit; probably something similar to what"s shown on JDBalerParts.com. I set the tucker finger adjustment according to the book and the baler did well when not being fed large amounts of hay...

    24T Tucker Fingers Question

I have intermittent tying problems with my 24T baler that, when I check the troubleshooting section in my manual, could be caused by tucker fingers not being adjusted correctly. I"ve made the adjustment, but there seems to be a lot of slop/play in the tucker fingers. How tight should things be...

    Square/Round Disc Axle Question

Are you able to use the discs with centers for different size square shafts? Most of the discs available have square holes for 1 inch and 1-1/8 inch square shafts. Kind of odd that there aren"t 1-1/8 round shaft notched discs readily available.
