    Thanks for all the replies. So far everyone seems to agree, leave it standing. It will probably be about 18 tall by then but I'll leave it alone and see how things go next year.

    Thanks for your reply. It's nice to hear I might have high quality hay. Anyway I have a newish small disc mower. I think I got about 85% of the field cut mostly even. In some places the hay was kind of flattened in a circle so was hard to decide what direction to start cutting from.

    Thanks for the reply. I hope it is a reasonable quality of hay. I paid to have it plowed, power harrowed and reseeded last fall. Anyway I am very new to haying, so have many questions. I hope asking what are probably dumb questions is okay on this forum. Thanks Mike

    2nd cut. Mix of tall fescue, orchardgrass and timothy. I think its the fescue that's down. It seems to mature way before the others.
