    White 2-70 Valve specs?

Have the 2-70 at the shop and the head is off and going to a machine shop to be checked. I was thinking I've heard of a valve update that helps with the hard starting? Does anyone have info that I can send to my mechanic or the machine shop? Thanks DAN

    Ideas for Cab Mirrors

My White 2-70 has a horizontal rear view mirror under the front edge on the canopy. I bought a standard "west coast " mirror head and mounted it horizontally in the cab of my manure hauling tractor. It works great pretty good; hard to get it high enough to see over the spreader real well, but it...

Sorry, I can never remember how to post pictures on here. Maybe I'll figure it out. And maybe I won't. :-)

    At work every day.....

Always like to see pics of Olivers at work. Here are two of mine. The 1850 doesn't have to work very hard on the mixer wagon. It has a Perkins with a 3 speed. It is a "special", which I guess means it has only one remote and non-removable 3 point hitch balls. The 1555 is a diesel. It...

    1850 PTO not working:update

I just looked and it does not have a leveling bolt that I could see; definitely not like the one on my 1555. Serial # 216628 - 557 Thanks, DAN

    1850 PTO not working:update

Several months ago, I had the 1850 on a mixer wagon turning really hard. There was a grinding noise and the PTO wouldn't turn the shaft. The hydraulics still work. Finally got it in the shop and pulled the PTO shaft today. The splines at the front are badly worn/damaged. Is this likely...

    White 2-70 throttle friction?

I've had to put the 2-70 on the TMR for the last week, and the RPM drops pretty fast unless I wedge cardboard or something in-between the throttle and 3 spd lever. I couldn't find any kind of friction adjustment anywhere and the manual doesn't help. Is there such a thing? Thanks DAN

    1850 PTO not working

    It's a single-speed 540, as far as I know. It's an 1850 special.

    1850 PTO not working

This afternoon I was mixing feed in my TMR mixer, Ran some heavy stemmy stuff for the dry cows, the pto stopped and I got it to turn again by pushing the lever hard forward. Then there was a loud grinding noise and the shaft stopped again. I tried it another time or two, but it was done. The...

    Does this look right?

1850 Special w/Perkins injection pump accessory shaft seal. This seal popped out Monday. I don't remember what it looked like before. Is the new one in far enough?

    1555 Clutch Problem Revisited

I adjusted the clutch fingers according to the instructions given with the new clutch. The linkages are worn, but reasonably tight. This morning I measured from the front of the clutch housing to the face of the throwout bearing and then also from the back of the the engine block to the clutch...

    1555 Clutch Problem Revisited

I bought a 1555 diesel this summer, nice tractor, but the clutch pedal would go almost all the way to the bottom before beginning to disengage. The disengagement is only in the last 3/4" before pedal bottoms out. I looked at adjusting the pedal, but there was no adjustment left. So, I thought a...

    1555 Clutch Problem answer??

I have a 1555 with clutch action only at the bottom of the pedal stroke. I replaced the clutch, thinking it was worn out. The new clutch is the same. I talked to a guy in the service department of the dealership where I bought the parts. He said that the clutches are seldom adjusted correctly...
