Being stranded and walking home...scooter in the trunk?

I would suggest a NOCO jump starter. I got one for Christmas and it's great. You can recharge from the truck with charger kit. With the scooter you would still be riding in the rain.

    1650 Hydra-Power Leak Repair

I replace it on my 1550 but the rear seal was also leaking and the nut holding the sprocket was coming loose so I pulled the engine to do it all. I was told by Mr. Schweibert that it's possible by shifting the engine to the left.

Little genius frog to frame bolts?

I have some LGs around the place. A picture would help.

    1550 brakes

I don't recall about the diameter but the seal is real deep in the bore. I cleaned up the area best as I could and used a four inch length of 3 inch PVC pipe as a drive tool. I don't think the bearings are loose but I'll have to get in there for a better look, it's just going to have to wait a bit.

    1550 brakes

I found one from SKF haha......$99. I'm gonna open it up and see where it's actually leaking and decide from there.

    1550 brakes

I found the left side brake dripping oil last year. Got new seals and discs and a new seal for one axle that had a small drip. Got under it to adjust the right brake which was sticking badly and noticed the left brake was dripping again. I have another seal since I didn't bother changing the...

    John Deere H axle seal

Best to use a driver that is the full diameter of the seal so it presses at the outer edge. Pipe, socket, large washers, whatever fits. But I've also just used a drift punch and work around the OD veeeerrrryyy carefully, light taps. Differential pinion seal on my Oliver I used a piece of 3 inch PVC.

    ford 2000 3cyl generator light

I've done a few generators. General cleanup, check the brushes, make sure they're in contact, polish the commutators. I always end with cleaning the surfaces where the end caps meet the frame and file clean the mounting ears. Generator grounding is just as important as the cables.

    ford 2000 3cyl generator light

Hope it helps. Took me a while to figure it out. B circuit fields are energized from the small wire to the generator. All those contacts on the reg are confusing.

    Model B Engine Questions

That looks like insert bearings, not babbitt. Did the Bx ever go to inserts? I thought they did that on the number series.

    “G” crankshaft endplay

Shouldn't. The end play is controlled at the left main bearing. The pulley just floats on the shaft and lock to the drive disc if engaged it still floats with the crankshaft. Unless the clutch is Fed up in some way.

    gaskets on John DeereH

If the surfaces are good you should not need any sealers. The only place an H can leak block to case is the oil passage at the bottom and the pushrod openings at the top. Coolant doesn't touch the case. The head is a different story but if it's clean same thing. Just my feelings. I use a 14...

What is the easiest way to clean out the airfilter assembly on a two-cylinder John Deere?

I've used rubber stoppers in the openings and filled it with purple power upside down. Overnight and flush it good with hot water then let it dry out.

    John Deere H axle seal

The trick is to start it square and keep it that way. If you have both sides off you can use a disk and washers on a piece of threaded rod and nut to pull it in. Might not hurt to put the axle on and try it anyway. The oil level is way below that seal and even though it's deformed the lip may...

    ford 2000 3cyl generator light

I went through charging problems on mine last year. I replaced the regulator with one from Brillman but the lower-priced import because it "looked" like the original but of course kept the old one. It worked a few years but started acting like yours. Somebody here sent me the Lucas manual. Be...
