    53 jubilee lift problem

    O.K. I applied air pressure to the dip stick hole and the lift came up, and it will hold but when I remove the air pressure it want lift.As long as I apply air pressure it will lift up and down.Am I loosing prime some how,some where?

    The only thing I bled was was that plug were I hooked the clear hose, what is the epump and how do I bleed it.

    I pulled the pipe plug and did the clear tube like you said,Igot nothing at first, but after it warmed up a little, it would just spit a little fluid then stop.I could move the lever down and back up and it would do the same thing, spit some then quit.

    So is there someone who may have an owners manual or something that can tell me what kind of fluid do I need for a 53 ford NAA, with a vane hydraulic pump ,for the hydraulic?

    What I don t understand is that if it was working find before how would I have air leaks now when all I did was pull the drain plug and the filler cap?

    So 80w90 GL5 can kill my pump but 80or90 GL1 want.What does the GL rating mean?

    It still want lift,the level shows over full.Just to make sure, the tractor dealer tech. said I should use 80w90 GL5 oil,I reminded him it was for the hydraulics on a 53 tractor.

    Yes,some air then oil.

    I tried bleeding the system while engine running and lift in up position.Bled air several times but it did not do any good.
