Massey Ferguson engine ID for water pump replacement

I think it is like you said, either a AG4.212 or AG4.236. I sent pictures to the Steiner tractor tech people and they are suppose to get back to me first of the week. I have compared pics of the 212 and 236 to this tractor and it looks like it is one of those. Do you know if those two motors use...

Massey Ferguson engine ID for water pump replacement

I hope someone can help me identify my MF tractor. I need to replace the water pump and can't find one. The serial number below the steering wheel is 9A 89634. That seems to indicate a 1970. It is a 4 cyl. gas engine. There is a casting number on the water pump that is 37711073. On the side of...

    1020 Manual Destroker

Thinking about your response and want to make it more clear. The starter is cranking very slow due to the pressure from the hydraulic pump and I think that is why to battery cable is getting hot.

    1020 Manual Destroker

Will check it when I get back home in about 2 weeks. Battery is new, cables and all wiring new, starter is new. This is a restore project. I do know that if I crank it when there is pump pressure the insulation on the battery cable where it connects to the starter solenoid will start smoking...

    1020 Manual Destroker

/Would a gear reduction starter fix the problem. I know it must have an internal leak but I am not qualified to find it and don't want to spend a lot of money on it. Just want to be able to crank it when it's hot.

    1020 Manual Destroker

I have a 1966 1020 JD gas that sometimes is very hard to crank and won't start when hot. I have installed a manual destroker which takes care of the problem but hydraulic fuel leaks out of the destroker when it is screwed in and tractor starts. Does not leak when screwed out. Any thoughts on...
