    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

Thank you for the info and picture. It appears she had drank a considerable amount of water. Ours didn't have as much but it affected two cylinders and it was seized. We were able to get it loose using penetrating oil and vinegar but it took a couple weeks to let go.

    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

We will research where a machine shop in our area is located that can do this and install an original bore sleeve. Thank you for the suggestion.

    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

Thank you for the information and suggestions. We have put it on the back burner for the time being since we have other things in the shop needing attention this winter and the G1000 isn't a field tractor. But it is still a beautiful tractor just to have around the yard. I am a little surprised...

Thanks GB. Good to know. Happy New Year.

    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

Thank you gb. Understandable due to the higher compression ratio of a diesel compared to a gas engine. Would a diesel block exchange in place of a gas block? Also would a 670 diesel block have the same stud configuration as a G1000 block? If this were the case it would open up a whole new group...

    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

Question? Will cylinder blocks off an M 670 gas replace the blocks on a G1000? What about the pistons? Is the only difference in compression ration to do with the heads? The bore is the same. Will have to check the casting number to be sure they are similar. But any information is very much...

    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

Yes $400 then a sleeve and piston and rings if available. They doubted that a sleeve would be even available. I am thinking a good used couple of blocks will be the best answer. Hopefully somewhere in North America there us a couple sets on a shelf in decent shape. I knew I should have taken up...

    G1000 Wheatland cylinder blocks 10A10248

We have a G1000 which has sat out in the elements too long and a couple pistons in each of two blocks have spots that have been eaten deep into the blocks. It was seized but with patience and lots of lube we are able to roll the engine over. It is a standard bore engine but it would appear the...

    1952 MM U tractor restoration

In at least one of the shoes the lining is pretty much gone probably from dragging and out of adjustment. Might be worth while to see if Bendix would still have shoes available for the old girl. Thanks molinegb. Appreciate the info.

    1952 MM U tractor restoration

Got the mainfold from Steiners and it appears to fit. Also had bought the heat riser several years ago and it fits the new manifold so along with the new gaskets it should be good as new. Still doing lots of there things to the tractor. Replacing the seals at the breaks as they were leaking oil...

    1952 MM U tractor restoration

Very interesting comments about the various types of paint. Will keep those in mind when our time comes to reach that point. Another question we are dealing with is about the exhaust manifold for the U. Our old one is burned through and will have to be replaced. When looking at the original...

    1952 MM U tractor restoration

Thank you for all the information on 6 and 12 volt systems. My dad's 1951 was definitely a 6 volt and the 52 we are working on was a 6 volt originally. Not a big concern being converted but nice to know when they were changed over. Interesting about the MM hydrualic cylinder and what would be...
