    2N Starter switch pivot piece.

Hi All, I'm working on restoring the original functionality of the starter switch for my 2N and I need to obtain this pivot piece and pin (see attached). Evidently a previous owner removed it. On a side note, this previous owner mounted a solenoid and simple push button. Do any of you...

    Help - newby 8N owner

Growing up on the farm, we had PTO driven grain augers that we ran without sitting on the tractor though, with that said, one should always be extremely cautious when using the equipment...

Coils and Coil resistors in the YT store

Hi All, Just wondering if any of you might know if there's any real difference between these two coils? (other then the extra $16.00 for the raised lettering :) 9N12024 for $13.88 http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ford-2N_Coil-Six-Volt_9N12024.html 9N12024S for $29.95...

    Flammable Bananas?

http://www.fox4news.com/story/29628634/banana-truck-catches-on-fire-snarls-i-35-traffic-in-lewisville Ever think a banana could burn? Guess they can, trailer fire just before rush hour, still has traffic gridlocked 5 hours later! Oh the joys of the metromess, glad I wasn't up there!

    Drop bucket loader

[b:5ff444585e] /b:5ff444585e] While testing the loader I removed the fill plug and noticed the fluid flowing through the pipe so I think the pump is working. I'll check the lines you mentioned tomorrow and see what I come up with. I also wondered if I'm using the right fluid?

    Drop bucket loader

Hi All, I have a 2N with a drop bucket loader. The loader uses a Vickers vane hydraulic pump. I decided to change the hydraulic fluid in the loader. After draining and refilling it I turned on the tractor to test raising and lowering the loader. The loader kind of hesitated and the pump...

    Ballast resistor

I don't think so but I'm not sure. The points are still good.

    Ballast resistor

Well, the other day the tractor wouldn't start. I determined there was no spark. After checking the plug wires, I pulled off the coil. I checked for resistance between the primary and secondary and it showed infinite resistance like an open circuit.

    Ballast resistor

Hi All, I have a 2N 6V and my coil went bad. Before putting in a new coil I tested the resistance on the ballast resistor and it shows no resistance (I get the same reading as when I touch the two leads to zero it in). My ohm meter is an analog meter and capable of measuring on the 1/10th...

    2N Carb

Many thanks to all of you. One other thing I noticed the carb has some powdery residue in it. I'm guessing it's caused by ethanol in the gas. Any suggestions for an additive to deal with the ethanol?

    2N Carb

Hi All, I've been trying to diagnose a problem with my carb. My manual says when adjusting the idle-mix, at an idle, to turn the screw inward till the engine falters then turn it out till it runs smoothly. On mine I can turn it in all the way and the engine won't falter a bit. Thus I...

Which is the best gasoline grade for 8N engine?

You don't need to with these tractors. The engines have hardened valve seats.

    Governor

Thanks for the info. Right now there's about 1/10th inch of slack where the base and lower race can slide between the gear and the ball holder on the shaft. Should there be that much slack or should there be less (just enough for the base and lower race to turn freely)?
