    Drop bucket loader

    Well, the other day the tractor wouldn't start. I determined there was no spark. After checking the plug wires, I pulled off the coil. I checked for resistance between the primary and secondary and it showed infinite resistance like an open circuit.

    Many thanks to all of you. One other thing I noticed the carb has some powdery residue in it. I'm guessing it's caused by ethanol in the gas. Any suggestions for an additive to deal with the ethanol?

    You don't need to with these tractors. The engines have hardened valve seats.

    Thanks for the info. Right now there's about 1/10th inch of slack where the base and lower race can slide between the gear and the ball holder on the shaft. Should there be that much slack or should there be less (just enough for the base and lower race to turn freely)?
