    Grinding wheel for holes?

epilogue...... Die grinder and metal grinding bits finally arrived. Got a chance today to put it to use. At first, it didn't seem like much was happening......then I looked down to see flecks of bright new metal shards showing up. Bottom line is I was able to enlarge the hole in the area I...

    Tedder

When I first discovered tedders, I was under the belief that they were likely needed as a lot of hay was now being cut with disc mowers....no conditioning......vs. something like a moco or haybine with roller conditioning to crush stems to aid in dry down. Neighbor does just that......mows with...

    Deweze Hay Monster

Part of the reason for me hunting one of these down was for the nostalgia of it, but also the economics. I am putting up small square bales for the horse market. Have about 10 customers......largest only takes 150 to 200 bales. Smallest to date was a guy who only wanted 10 bales to feed some...

    Deweze Hay Monster

I've always thought hay hauling was the same all over, but have come to realize how regional it was. Midwest and probably NE dairy farms used kickers and hay wagons.......some just pulled wagons. Then there are the NH stackliners. I started haying at around age 8.....when they put me on a...

    Deweze Hay Monster

I have a 10' extension for this one too, but it's not working. Bearings are froze up and place on front chute where it mounts up is slightly sprung and is going to need some "adjustment". Extension allows crew to shoot bales up into a pretty high barn loft window....or stack more than 8 high in...

    Deweze Hay Monster

There were three commercial made versions of these that I've heard of. This one was by DewEze and made in Harper, KS. DewEze seems to have been made from Dodge D600 drive train components...engine, tranny, axles. Chassis was factory made from channel iron. The other two were Kent and United...

    Deweze Hay Monster

Standard crew is driver and 2 stackers. Machine picks up the bales and delivers them to back of stack riding on a pair of roller chains. Stackers pick bales out of tray, turn then 90 degrees and set them down. For short hauls, standard stack pattern is 3w x 3h +2 on top to tie them together...

    Deweze Hay Monster

About 3 weeks out from putting her to work. For those who remember working on one.......I'll find you a spot on the back or in the barn on top of the pile........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onIsfsSXRXc

    Grinding wheel for holes?

Looked all over for something like those cones......which is what I suspected I needed. Will try one. Have also ordered an electric die grinder and a few basic bits. Probably messed up on the die grinder, as I got an entry level fixed speed one. Had I popped for the higher end one, it would...

    Grinding wheel for holes?

That might work too.......still seems odd to me that something like that is not available for an angle head grinder....to get the rpm up to where they would do some good. I use flap sanding disks on those to sharpen my lawnmower blades. They cut fast.

    Grinding wheel for holes?

Hmmm.....not sure how I got this far in life and have not heard of a die grinder. Seems to be the souped up, heavy duty version of the dinky little Dremel tool. In which case, it looks like I now want one. Mine will have to be electric, as my little pancake air compressor works OK for nail...

    Grinding wheel for holes?

What tool is used to spin em? I've got a Dremel......seems dinky for this degree of use.....got an angle head grinder....and hand drills.......which I suspect drills turn way to slow to do anything. I found some that run off air grinders, etc, but I don't have one of those either. I...

    Grinding wheel for holes?

Was working on a project......oblong, irregular shaped hole.....about 2" x 3" that had been cut in 1/4" plate steel with a cutting torch. Hole wasn't big enough and I needed to enlarge it....basically grind down all the burrs left by the torch and smooth up the edges. Could have used a torch...

    Grain Drills?

Yup......I'm aware of the difference in age, etc. Having used an old JD B back when, I know how they work and what they can do, and for my use, a good one in working condition is exactly what I need. Key words being "good one in working condition". The reason for asking about the IH...

    Grain Drills?

Yes, I remember that small box. Kept having to stop and fill up. Seemed like it took forever to plant 15 acres. If the heat houser wasn't on the JD 620 yet, that could make for a long day. But for what I'm doing, which could be a lot of small acre fields, that would be an advantage...
