    302a rockshaft question

No, I have not. With all of my other symptoms (all hydraulic areas getting very hot, tractor not moving forward when it is started, implement dropping when bucket is moved, when placed in "D" rockshaft arms go all the way up and can't be lowered, etc.) I believe there is an issue with the...

Any thoughts on the valve situation?

    302a rockshaft question

Ok, I have finally pulled off the RS cover and got it on the work bench, yes another set of muscles would have been helpful.... At any rate I do not see any broken springs, but the "cam spring" seems weak to me, but not sure how strong it should be. What I did see is that the Load Selector...

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

I feel like I should start another thread for this, but since this is already going... So since I have the Industrial with the second "Horizontal" filter and if I remember correctly, there is a port on the side of housing that the filter cover attaches to, then I should be able to hook the...

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

It sure would be nice to be able to use it for a log splitter, do you have any pictures of how it is plumbed?

    302a rockshaft question

I'm going to guess it is an internal leak. I noticed that the bucket operation was sometimes very slow with the brush hog on the tractor. Also, when I raise the bucket with the brush hog raised all the way up, the brush hog will drift down until I stop raising the bucket. I am going to...

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

Thank you for the list, this will be very helpful. My main use will be in the hay field for a rake or baler, so the first scenario should work fine for me. There is a very rare chance of a log splitter, but I learned from this site that I am better off to get a gas powered splitter.

    302a rockshaft question

Thank you. After a few hours of use today, I was able to now for awhile, but the side of the transmission got so hot that it would burn my hand at the slightest touch. Could there be a bad relief valve?

    302a rockshaft question

Is this a major project? In the tech manual, it looks like about 12 bolts. Does it pick straight off? Are there internal parts that can fall into the transmission?

    302a rockshaft question

I am trying to use my 1,500# 3-point brush hog. Which setting do I want on the selector? I would think I want "D" for depth control. Problem is that in the "D" position, the arms will not lower no matter where the control lever is positioned. In either "LD" or "L", it is constantly trying...

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

Thanks, that cleared it up for me. For now, I am going to continue the search for a factory setup, but I may end up going this route. Thanks for the suggestion.

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

Yes, the one I was looking at was an ag model, but it set out so long that you couldn't tell what it was. It looked very similar to my tractor and I am assuming it was Closed Center.

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

I just have to find the parts. I found a SCV in a junk yard in Glenwood, AR (not sure what model the tractor was, but everthing looked right), but they wanted $500 for it. It felt like it worked properly, but the lines and fittings were in pretty bad shape. I thought they were way too high...

302A with Reverser slipping in High Range

Finally got a new screen put in, the old one was about 1/4 dirty with sludge and what appeared to be nylon gear shavings (no idea where they came from). It seems to have fixed the issue I was having with the tractor not wanting to go forward for a minute or 2 after start up!! Thank you for all...
