1948 John Deere B Starving for fuel?

Lance, You may have already done this, but did you check that the fuel cap is venting properly? If its vent hole is plugged, you will get a sluggish supply of fuel as well. Easy way to check: Take the cap off and try to run it.... Moore-D

Are Carlisle R1 tires made in Tennessee

You could e-mail them and ask them directly if you wanted to. I couldn't find any concrete information on their website saying that they manufactured all their tires in the US. I would hazard a guess to say they probably manufacture both in the US and overseas. Here is the link to ask them...

    Novice restorations

I have noticed the same trend, but maybe there is a different way to look at it..... Remember that this younger generation is very acustomed to getting their information through media instead of being passed down from an "elder". Instead of asking the old guy down the road, or going to the...

    Flywheel nut picture

I think he is saying that because of what you said: I am going to assume that you meant your guy made the nut on the left of the picture??????

    Classic Deere Paint

Very true. [u:82e155e760]Some[/u:82e155e760] people that post negative comments about someone else projects usually have nothing to back up what they are preaching. johndeerefan went through the trouble of replying and linking up some of his pictures in order to help the original poster. Mystery tractors

That's quite a bit of money sitting there!! Wonder if he repairs them, or stores them there for others. He would need a pretty big farm to use all of that iron. Cool to see though.

    JD's in movies

Not a "off topic" topic.....Actually this question has been asked here before a few times. One of the more popular ones is in the movie Seabiscuit. 2 guys are trying to start a Model D and it backfires scaring the heck out of the horse. Here's a link to the other posts about this...

    JD D PURCHASE

Did you check out the serial number reference on the side bar of this web page? There has been a lot of debate if the numbers here are 100% correct, but it will give you a pretty close estimation anyway. Look under the "Reasearch & Info" side bar. I have a 1946 Styled Model D with serial...

    JD D PURCHASE

SuperTruker: Therer is a few things you want to keep an eye out for when checking out a D. Number one problem is cracked cylinder block as 1936 stated above. They are usually between the 2 cylinders on the top side of the block. Most of them are pretty easy to spot because it's pretty open...

    Weird Battery Question.......

Seems there is a bit of "misunderstandings" with the terminology being used here. As you are now aware, your tractor is what they call a "positive ground" system. It is not wired up backwards....... As buickanddeere stated above, "It's not backwards, it's postive chassis return" is 100%...
