    Super C generator source

I recently replaced the voltage regulator, rewired the entire tractor to include ground wires to the ignition system and regulator base, and cleaned and polished the brush contact bars on the armature. The brushes looked good when I took the generator apart. And the coils showed continuity with...

    Super C generator source

I have my father's 1954 Farmall Super C tractor, and still use it for mowing and general small scale work around the farm. But over the last year the original generator has stopped charging, but I can usually run it quite a while on the battery with a battery ignition. But I am getting tired...

    Super C radiator/hose/cap leaking

The pressure cap on the tractor I think is the same one that was on it when I was a kid (1960's?). It has the bar sticking out of the back of it to turn it on with. And looks as old as the tractor.

    Super C radiator/hose/cap leaking

After I run the tractor, and come back in a few days, the water level is down below the top of the tubes in the radiator. And if it sits for a few weeks, sometimes I have to put almost two gallons of antifreeze in it.

    Super C radiator/hose/cap leaking

So, how might I do a pressure test? I do have a compressor. Unfortunately the brass tube part on the overflow of the radiator neck that holds the pressure cap is broken off at the radiator. And I have no idea how to fix that either.

    Super C radiator/hose/cap leaking

I have a 1954 Farmall Super C, and I have a leak somewhere on the top of the radiator I think. When I run it I don't see anything leaking. But after parking it for awhile I see water dripping out on the left, front tire and onto the ground. With a flashlight I can look behind the radiator and...

    1954 Super C Starter Replacement

The last one I bought came from one of the parts suppliers on this site. And I didn't know it was going to be Chinese made until I got it. Think I paid about $107 for it. And of course it was advertised as having a one year warrenty. And that was purchased just a little over a year ago. So...

    1954 Super C Starter Replacement

I have a 1954 Farmall Super C with the original 6 volt electrical system and my 2 year old Chinese starter has burned out. I still have the original starter to the tractor and had thought about having that rebuilt, but the local shop doesn't do them anymore. So, is there a better solution to...

    Super C Won't start

Yes, they are copper spark plug and coil wires.

    Super C Won't start

I have a 1954 Farmall Super C that I use for general small work around the farm. I have been pulling a 6' wide finishing mower with it along the driveway and out front by the road. Lately it has been getting harder to start, especially when it is hot after mowing for awhile. My Chinese made...

Want to buy a new-used tractor

Thanks for your list George 3. This has helped me look through advertisements for these models. I called about one on the list last night but it had sold already. So, it might take awhile to find anything suitable. Unfortunately I am probably going to have to fix these old tractors we have...

Want to buy a new-used tractor

I never heard of a 300u or 350u? They must be pretty rare? I have seen regular tricycle gear 300's and 350's around here. They are in the right horsepower range that I am looking for, but I am looking for a lower center of gravity machine. And both of those are still in the Fast-Hitch era...

Want to buy a new-used tractor

I have a 1959 International Cub Lo-Boy with a 59" mowing deck, and a 1954 Farmall Super C towing a 72" finishing mower for finish mowing about 8 acres of grass around the buildings and along our driveway and around the edges of our fields on our grain farm in Missouri. After using this system...

    Super C Hydraulic Pipe Fittings

I replaced that galvanized 6" long x 1/4" nipple that was leaking with a new one bought from the real plumbing supply place in town. It is an American made black steel pipe and the threads look like a fine machine screw (although tapered). So I put some good pipe dope on all the male threads...

    Super C Hydraulic Pipe Fittings

In the winter time I have one of those carryall deals (original) that slides into the fast hitch that I use to go cut firewood. And I can get 4, 3' diameter x 3' long pieces of oak tree on there and pick it up. But then the front of the tractor is so light I have to steer with the brakes...
