    Just wanted to post what was actually found once I got some time to look at this. The Clutch splines had simply worn out on the PTO shaft and would not turn. I guess 65 years finally took its toll! Anyway, new clutch plates and shaft installed--back in operation. Thanks for all the replies!

    Alvin 41--This makes more sense to me, it is not the PTO clutch assembly as I have inspected it and to be honest as I NEVER disengage it as it runs the aux. pump for the Farmhand loader, the pto plates are actually stuck together! I need to pull that shaft out and see what the heck is going on...

    I have a 1959 Oliver 880 which has a Farmhand Loader which runs off an auxiliary PTO pump. Suddenly the PTO shaft from the tractor has no torque and turns very slow, you can actually stop it by grabbing it. I have checked the PTO clutch and it is engaged, and the PTO shaft from the transmission...

    Hammermill hopper

    Thanks but today was my lucky day. As I went to get this we found the hopper in another shed along with the pipe--doesn't get any better than that! I am still puzzled some though as on the hopper it is marked B 1--maybe this is just the hopper. Any thoughts? Rod
