    Did you remove engine from transmission? Did you remove crank? Did you have a shop go over the head ? Did you have to remove anything on front, timing gear cover, or what about camshaft? You said you didn't replace rods, but don't they come with kit and you did have to remove them to replace...

    Update, I have 140 pounds compression on all 4 cylinders dry, Didn't go up much with wet test. I removed the valve cover and found someone put too much silicone gasket sealer around vent tube where it is bolted to valve cover it almost completely plugged vent. It only had a pinhole opening...

    Does anyone know where to get spark plug extensions or would I have to go to machine shop and make some ? Im using autolite 386 Plugs, anyone know what would be a hotter plug ? Also spark plug jumpers? Thanks

    Can you say where to get extensions, or plug wire jumpers?? I never knew they existed, but I do remember now dad used to raise plug wire connection up from plug to make our 9N stop missing. Funny how you remember these things, it just took this advice to jolt my brain.

    Thanks for good information. You mentioned rear crank seal, would I have to remove it, I was hoping to leave crank in and just replace from there up? I will try these other suggestions first, I never knew about plug extensions, or synthetic oil, and I was going to kit the carb and clean air...

    Thanks Jim, I have been using straight 30w oil, I thought synthetic was too thin and would run right through it. Have you tried this before with good results? Thanks
