    65 MF 135 4 cyl gas Update

I unplugged the crankcase vent and tractor is not smoking and changed to synthetic oil and hotter plugs, that problem seems much better, thanks to all for the help. Now I have discovered a small radiator leak in top of radiator where tubes are attached to upper pan. I found a 160* thermostat in...

    MF 135 complete rebuild

Did you remove engine from transmission? Did you remove crank? Did you have a shop go over the head ? Did you have to remove anything on front, timing gear cover, or what about camshaft? You said you didn't replace rods, but don't they come with kit and you did have to remove them to replace...

    MF 135 complete rebuild

I am saying the shop to replace all bearings, sleeves, pistons, rework head, and grind crank , or any other machine work needed and to reassemble it ready to bolt back onto tractor.

    MF 135 complete rebuild

Does anyone know if $1600 would be a fair price for a complete engine rebuild, on a MF135 gas if I remove starter and intake, and exhaust, and haul it to the shop?

65 MF 135 Fouling spark plugs with oil

Can you say where to get extensions, or plug wire jumpers?? I never knew they existed, but I do remember now dad used to raise plug wire connection up from plug to make our 9N stop missing. Funny how you remember these things, it just took this advice to jolt my brain.

65 MF 135 Fouling spark plugs with oil

Thanks for good information. You mentioned rear crank seal, would I have to remove it, I was hoping to leave crank in and just replace from there up? I will try these other suggestions first, I never knew about plug extensions, or synthetic oil, and I was going to kit the carb and clean air...

65 MF 135 Fouling spark plugs with oil

Thanks Jim, I have been using straight 30w oil, I thought synthetic was too thin and would run right through it. Have you tried this before with good results? Thanks

65 MF 135 Fouling spark plugs with oil

I have a 65 Massey Ferguson 135 with Z145 gas engine, it has been fouling spark plugs for a couple years and really got bad recently. I checked compression, 140 on all 4 cylinders. I only need this small tractor for cleaning manure out of a barn with small opening, and raking hay as I have...
