    John Schwiebert need your knowlege

In what kind of shape are the front pivot pin and axle bore in? What about the spindles? If those pivot points are worn, it will be considerably harder to steer. Nathaniel

    Hydraulic fittings on Oliver 550

Actually, I found this for Dad around 2001. He always fought with it - hard to start, and I dont know the last time the generator worked. Mom gave it to me non-running in 2018. Not knowing any better, I charged the battery and tried to start it. I am VERY thankful that the Bosch...

    Hydraulic fittings on Oliver 550

Im fairly certain this is a factory setup. It matches the images in the parts list. This image shows an angled view from the right side of the tractor, toward the left rear wheel. There is a 45 deg. street ell (pointing down and back) between the valve block and each hose. Nathaniel

    Hydraulic fittings on Oliver 550

No loader, unfortunately - although I still had to make a significant repair to the front end last year. As far as I know, I have an original One-remote factory option. Ill grab a couple pictures after I get home tonight.

    Hydraulic fittings on Oliver 550

Thank you all. I did find a couple of fittings that would maybe mate up, but decided to convert to Pioneer fittings, so that I would not have unique hydraulics. Super99, Ill save the fittings and see what it takes to get to the o-rings. Nathaniel

    Hydraulic fittings on Oliver 550

Im working on setting up a remote cylinder on my Oliver 550, but am unfamiliar with these hydraulic fittings. The fittings appear to be plugged from the inside (maybe?), but weep slightly when using the tractor. I see remnants of part number lettering, including the quotation marks, but I...

    Calling Coshoo

Hello Coshoo, Would you shoot me an e-mail if you dont mind? Ive been wanting to add a loader to my 58 Oliver 550. As I recall, you have (or had) a Freeman 100 loader you mentioned wanting to sell. Thanks, Nathaniel

    I bought a Tractor-- MF65 Diesel

Please do yourself a favor and keep some oil in the P/S pump. Otherwise, eventually this will happen (bottom-middle gear): Thankfully, it was just a couple of gears and the P/S pump to replace on a MF165.

    Need a Weed Identified

Hi Bob, Can you pull one of each weed to get a clear image of the plant (against dirt or concrete, maybe?) Is there a milky sap? Are the leaves or stems hairy or glossy? Nathaniel

    Be it ever so humble....

That is known as the Leonard Barn, and was built in 1917. I drive by it occasionally. http://www.leonardroundbarn.com/ There is a video at the link that shows some of the interior. Nathaniel

    Graphite Rods and Brazing

I didn't see any 1-3/8" graphite rods at the link... Last year, I begged some milling machine time from a friend and did this to my Oliver 550 adjustable front axle. I used two bushings end-to-end in the bore (1-1/2 OD x 1-3/8ID).
