Ford 4600 Small bubbles in Coolant

Nothing other than adding coolant as it was a little low but it had been sitting a while

Ford 4600 clutch lever free play

Thanks, yea I measured pedal free play when I made the adjustment which basically ended up taking all the slop out at the lever on the transmission. I hadn’t had any issues with the clutch until yesterday when I was having trouble getting it in gear and it felt like the transmission wasn’t...

Ford 4600 clutch lever free play

Went to adjust my clutch pedal linkage yesterday for the first time and noticed a decent amount of free play in the lever on the side of the transmission. assuming this is normal to make sure the clutch fully engages but just want to make sure. Video attached. Thanks

Ford 4600 Small bubbles in Coolant

Can anybody tell me if these bubbles shown with the radiator cap off in the video are cause for concern of a blown head gasket or potential cracked head? I was bush hogging and when I got done there was a little coolant in the overflow but not an excessive amount (radiator fins were also due to...

Bush Hog SQ72 gear box came apart

Thanks, yea I’m going for functional rebuild here. Did you get the bearings and seals from the dealer or order from somewhere else and just go off dimensions?

Bush Hog SQ72 gear box came apart

Thanks for the info! I was hoping someone had experience with the same issue, did you just use the shims that were already installed or is there any trick to shimming the gears correctly?

Bush Hog SQ72 gear box came apart

Any experience pulling these apart? Should the gear and bearings come off the shaft relatively easily or is it normal to require some persuasion? Trying to minimize the parts I have to throw at it and worried about bearings and seals if I have to tear it down completely.

Bush Hog SQ72 gear box came apart

I believe the gear box is a 70772 (https://bushhog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/BHRotaryCutter420-sq84t-08.pdf), it has a rear cover held in place with a large retaining ring. It appears that the input shaft of the gear box has slid rearward to the point of forcing the cover plate out and...

Sounds good, yea I haven’t even been able to find any of the flex ends for sale so I figured they were high. Thanks

Ford 4600 3 pt category change

Thanks for the responses. Took some better pics of the right side this morning, it looks to me like a previous owner ground the inside lip off and then re-welded a lip back on to retain the cat 1 ball. So unless I’m missing something I’m thinking I have 3 options: 1) Grind the inside weld...

Ford 4600 3 pt category change

Thanks for the replies, my neighbor mowed the area near where I store my stuff and shot grass all over a couple days ago and I didn’t have a good way to clean it with me. The right side is my main concern since as far as I can tell the ball isn’t meant to be removable. I’ll try to take better...

Ford 4600 3 pt category change

My 1980 Ford 4600 had lower lift arms set up for Cat 1 when I bought it but I’m looking to change back to Cat 2. It has the telescoping flex links, the left side has a spring clip for swapping the spherical bearing out but the right side doesn’t look like there’s a simple way to swap it without...
