    4255 quad range slipping

    I talked to the previous owner and he told me that he had the perma clutch replaced by a neighbor last fall (2010) and the tractor has only be run about 10 hours since it was installed. He said it has slipped under a load ever since it was installed.

    I have a 4255 and the transmission slips in all gears when a load is applied to the tractor. Without a load the clutch operates smooth and the hi-load shifts firm.     4500 no/little power

    When it starts can you get full rpm's out of it or does it just barely make it above idle? I have seen a couple that would not start unless you shot it with either and the probleem waas not timing but the metering valve sticking in the injection pump.
