    The battery cable connects to a terminal at the back of the starter motor. The solenoid is not an external solenoid as later starter motors fitted to the fergie. Would the problem of the points sticking still apply? Again, I don t quite understand as my experience with cars is a starter motor...

    Fella s, I removed the starter motor from my ted and disconnected the wires to the ignition indicator light and the switch on the dash. When I reinstalled everything on attempting to start the tractor the starter motor continued to spin and to stop it, I had to disconnect a battery connection...
