    Carb issues?

Thanks all for the input. I had not thought about the plugs or the possibility of the new manifold needing less choke due to the better seal. The old manifold was shot on one end! I'll give all of this a try when I get home and let you know how it works out! Thanks Lowell in Ohio

    Carb issues?

Good morning everyone. To start, 1946ish 2N/9N. Over the past few weeks I have replaced a few parts on ye'ol tractor. (12V conversion, manifold, water pump, radiator) I finally got enough time in my schedule to finish putting everything back together over the weekend and now I have an...

    The over heating continues

I forgot to post an update. IT'S ALIVE!! I buttoned everything back up and the new radiator/thermostat etc are all doing their jobs and the tractor is not overheating anymore! I have been checking the block temp with an infrared thermometer and it runs up to about 235F at the serial...

That's a good idea. Before I put the new one in I'll be sure to compare the 2. Lowell

    The over heating continues

8/5/2015 Update The new plugs are in! After flushing and digging and flushing and digging I'm confident that the block is a clean as I can get it without pulling the head. I pulled the water pump and the impeller looks good. Right now I'm just waiting on the new ignition parts and...

    The over heating continues

7/31/2015 UPDATE: Well I finally freed up enough time to get all of the plugs out and get the block flushed. I was amazed when I pulled the plugs the amount of, for lack of a better term, MUD that was behind them. Cylinders 1,3,4 were almost entirely packed in behind the plugs. I dug quite...

    The over heating continues

7/21/2015 Update. First off. The harbor freight dent puller is garbage! I broke the hook on the second pull! One plug is removed. There really wasn't any funkiness to speak of behind the plug. I was surprised. The two remaining plugs are behind the oil filter and the starter and I...

Napa Part Number Change: Freeze out plugs

I was looking at these again last night after doing farm chores as the light began to fade. It looks to be like these plugs are smaller than the ones that are currently in the block. The recesses in the block now measure 1.25" and the new plugs are 1-3/16". Is there another lip inside of...

Napa Part Number Change: Freeze out plugs

Nope, same ol' same ol'. I've not had the privilege to file them to get them to fit....yet. I'll probably be there by week's end! ;-)

Napa Part Number Change: Freeze out plugs

FYI The freeze out plugs that we've grown to know and love from Napa #219-1021 Have been updated and changed in the Napa parts center catalog to #381-1021 These are 1-3/16" thermal expansion plugs, made by sealed power. I just thought I would pass this along. Lowell

    The over heating continues

Alright. I now have new freeze plugs and a dent puller in my possession. I assume I can drill through the old plugs so I can use the dent puller to get them out. My question is do I have to worry about anything behind those plugs should drilling them not go exactly as planned? I'll be...

    The over heating continues

Alright now all I need is someone to tell me to quit being a scary cat and pull them. ;-)]

    The over heating continues

Drill and tap them and use a puller to get them out or will they just knock sideways and pull out?
