    just painted 1948 g allis with ppg Persian orange #1.the color seems more industrial yellow than the orange you normally see, can this be right?

    2 cyl hercules cast # on block & pan

    what type engine is this. it appears to be a Hercules for L john deere. the block has cast # 62253-c and the cast pan has cast # 62184-d. does not have the timing port at back of engine.

    acquired frame for unstyled l jdeere , at least I though I did because of center shift trans, the frame has cast #al2092d on rear axle. now I am told it is for early styled. was this frame used on any unstyled l jdeeres?

    purchased a wide propeller shaft cover for la jdeere with pulley on shaft. the end of cover toward the seat seems to fit the bracket in place. how is the front of cover attached to rear of hood. also I am told I should have 2 spacers across the bottom of cover, how long are the spacers? thanks

    thanks aces that answers axle removal. after removing wheel and then wheel hub I discovered the inside spline is worn very bad, so now I also need splined hub if I can find one??

    18hp kohler doesn't want to shut down

    finally able to go down to shop and do some trouble shooting. things that helped , lowered timing just a bit, idled engine down some, run engine at idle some before shutting off, but for my engine at the suggestion of a local friend I bought a cold plug for the 18 hp. it seemed to run smoother...
