    Jerry, Sounds like your problem is the same as mine. I haven't tore down my pump yet. But I did buy the seal kit on ebay for $29 + shipping. Lots of orings and gaskets in the kit. Plus, I bought the piece which is supposed to replace the original plastic flex ring ($60). Let's stay in touch...

    Thanks so much Paul. I will look up your referenced info. It is a stanadyne pump, and I'm pretty sure it's the flex ring that's gone bad. Just an additional note in case you do another one-- I spoke to a supplier today who has a seal rebuild kit that has a steel surrounded rubber ring to replace...

    If you think the battery is good, try using jumper cables to replace the existing cables end to end. If the truck starts, then the cable replaced with a jumper is corroded in two somewhere inside the insulation.

    No leaks. It just won't throttle up. Starts and idles fine.

    Multiply height by 1.41 gives you a length @ 45 degrees

    I'm thinkin' I'll take my chances with a $50 rebuild kit. If it doesn't work out for me then I'll let a shop rebuild it. Prices I'm getting are about $800 +-
