I have questions about my 1939 David Bradley walkbehind?

you can use a belt from a semi tractor engine to power it. I beleive the belt is 2x40". The orginal engine would have been a Z briggs. The colors were all red, but the wheels, they would have been green. Steel one would be correct, 22" rubber was the option, and is hard to find now. Wheel...

    1953 sears rider

So are you saying you have a 53 Suburban? Since Sears didnt make a Suburban until 1959, be interesting to see what you have. I'm sure there would be a big line of people wanting to pick up one for $100.

    Oliver side dresser

Sounds like what i have. It doesnt appear that i have all of it, bad most of a two row system. There are two of the large gears and lift handles, one sqaure hopper and alot of shanks, shovels and small stuff. Also included were 2 sets of planter plates, a pair of gauge wheels and a row marker...

    Oliver side dresser

I found a side dresser unit, for a pipe frame cultivator. I beleive it might have gone to a 66 tractor. Anyone know of these?

    Mower trailer pics

I quess i"m wondering why this is in the forum area and not in an ad section. We have an ad section here for this kind of thing. Seems like half or more of the people come here just to find out what they should sell something for, not to discuss any real tractor or attachment related items. I...

    David Bradley

you might get a little better reply if if said where you from and what kind of DB items your looking for, maybe the condition. Lots of poeple out there have some, but most dont want to deal with folks 100's of miles from them.

Sears sSuburban and Jacobson Chief 800

Jerry has pretty much nailed it. Its not 60"s but 70"s, Sears never used a Kolher engine in a garden tractor of that vintage. It dont look like much of a prize. On another note, they have a classified ad area here, and you seem to be a business, so why not use it?

Have you tried going to a Briggs dealer. I get all my sets for engines right from the source.

Is this a David Bradley engine

The mower is a bachtold, the engine is a briggs. An engine using that style DB tag would be a 143402, also known as a 6hp. DB had nothing to do with bachtold. The engine is from the 60"s the mower from the 70"s. The normal engine for the mower would ahve been an 8hp briggs in the 70"s.

    David Bradley 600- Clutch Question

it doesnt work because your ball lock clutch is out of adjustment, or someone before you messed it up and lost some of the balls inside. Use the link and find the clutch adjusting part. it will take a little time to get it perfect so that it locks over center when you pull the handle down.

    1964 sears suburban

Your have to remove the small bolts, put a 3/8 ratchet in the sq hole, and turn the center hub nut forward, while holding the outer pulley still. Then put the bolts back in and test. You only want to go about 1/6 of a turn at a time. You will find its probally stuck and you'll need to spray some...

    Row Buster

These tractors started out as the Power Wheel, built by Edko manufacuring of Des Moines Iowa. They built a line of three differnt tractor models from at least 1974 to 1978, when the company was purchased by Ariens. Ariens kept one model of tiller/tractor and it was feature in there 1979 catolog...

    Sears Suburban Tractor (David Bradley)

What you have there is a 1963 725 Suburban with a hand clutch. Dont let the dumb a's scare you off with their storys. Use Joe's method of testing as it sounds pretty close to what i'd do. I own many suburbans from 59 to 65, never had any trouble with them getting away. Oh ya youer orginal...

Sears Suburban 10 Compatability with Sears Super 12?

well i wouldnt get too exited. If the 10 has a hand clutch then the attachments for the front and under the tractor wont work right. All the rear Sears attachments where made to fit the same 3 pt hitch system. Things like blades, mower decks, and sickel units depend weather the tractor was built...
