    M/S Carb question

I hated those M-S carb types that were on the Oliver 1850. My 1850, I found out, had one on it that was from a JD 4010 gas. Some idiot used JB Weld, when putting some of the brass back on. What a mess. So I got a Zenith from a JD 4010, had to do a little re-work of linkages, but it runs...

    NOS Sparkplugs

If there are some knowledgeable people out there that know what tractor or old motors use these sparkplugs, fill me in. They are Co-op brand and I have C2M, C-48, C-2, and Z7. They are all unused. My uncle must have gotten them at a auction many years ago.

    Harris Power Horse

I don't know much about these, a little what I find on the internet. My Dad bought it a number of years ago at an auction in ND. Sounds like parts availability would be very tough, so should I sell it rather than trying to get it running? I believe the engine is stuck. It would be a cool...

    Starter/Electrical Problem - Please Help

And a quick test that should point to a bad starter right away would be connecting the red of the VOM to the Pos terminal on the starter, and VOM black to the starter housing, and 'screwdriver'. If 11v, then pretty dang sure it would be a bad starter. Keep in mind its generally somewhat...

    Starter/Electrical Problem - Please Help

Get a cheap voltmeter VOM (depends how much you want to spend), set it on a DC scale to read 12v. 1. Connect the VOM (-) black to the starter ground (metal of the starter to start with). Connect VOM (+) red to the actual battery post. 'Screwdriver' the solenoid and if 11v-plus is there...

    Splitting stands

I'm curious why that last 3/4" will not easily slip together without pulling with bolts. I would be afraid I was going to damage parts.

1850 row crop front axle, tie rods

I have no idea if the axle was changed or not. I really got confused when I saw pictures of 1850's with the stay rod mounted both ways. It may be by year maybe? It may be depending on which type of row crop axle? Pictures of 1850's on 'TractorData' show it both ways. I may have check it out...

1850 row crop front axle, tie rods

The tie rods rub against the stay rod mechanism on my 1850. I was thinking maybe someone had changed axles and mounted the stay rod on the wrong side of the axle (it's on the top). Then I was looking in my owner manual on the lube page and it appears to be on top. Other photos of 1850's I see...

    1850 Distributor Cap, Misfire troubles...

I will have to look closer, but I did not see a number. I know the Holly had the hookup for the tach, but this one has a bolted on block mechanism below the distributor opening for the tach cable. Nothing on the dist. Was there a tach connection on the 1600-1800? This thing may have had a...
